On Saturday, stay-at-home wintry weather Saturday, I warmed up for my writing session by doing some research that led to me hunting down Jewel’s 1997 radio version of “Foolish Games” on iTunes, only to discover that in order to buy the song I have to buy the whole freaking Batman and Robin soundtrack, and I don’t WANT any of those other songs, thank you, and then I further discovered that “Foolish Games” was released as a single along with “You Were Meant for Me” on CD that is like a twenty-five dollar collector’s item on Amazon. Come on! Anyway, after all that, and fueled by lots of hot cocoa, I got down to business.
I finished writing the final, final scene of the new split-in-two version of my novel.
Whew!
That called for celebration.
My self-imposed Internet-surfing ban now over, I checked Twitter and saw the quote at the beginning of this post, courtesy of Writer.ly. It was just so fitting.
Next step for me and my novel is the polishing of the new rewrites.
Good thing there is a long Thanksgiving weekend ahead.
I just have to resist the temptations of the movie marathons, the shopping sprees, and the hunting down of Jewel songs.
