Five Favorite Things about Grimm, Ep 202: The Kiss

Well, that was a twist on the whole kiss thing. Minor spoilers ahead.

Favorite Conflict

“I’m not much for the physical stuff.” Such a lie. The throw-down between the hexenbiest and Nick’s mom was nails-digging-into-palms tension. Kicker? The woman outside walking her dog who stops when she hears all the commotion.

Favorite Character Reveal
Kelly trying really, really hard not to smile—maybe—when Rosalee embraces her in a sisterly hug. Then Kelly ends it with her “okay, sweet moment’s over” pat on the back, although it was a bit softer than the one she did to her own son in the previous week’s episode.

Favorite Little Moment
Nick arrives at the homicide scene and Sgt. Wu is a little taken aback: “Were you in another fight? You look worse than you did last night.”

Nick recovers with a wry smile: “It always looks worse the second day.”

Favorite Quote
Monroe: “You go take care of the dead, and, uh, we three will all just go on living.”

  • Yeah Nick was getting pretty flippant there, wasn’t he? At least Giuntoli is showing a bit more life in his performance thus far.

Loved the Renard stuff. In our review we talk about how awesome it is that they’re giving other people a bit more to do. Jury’s still out on Mama Grimm and what she’s up to, though…

I like that about Nick, he’s so straight-faced and then has these flashes of dry wit. I loved the Renard stuff, too, it was just too much to even touch on in the brief highlights. It’ll be interesting to see what Kelly’s agenda is.

I was so happy to see a bit of Monroe’s humor return this season! I’ve actually been so busy lately that I didn’t realize Grimm had started until I found new episodes in my PrimeTime Anytime recordings on my Hopper. I had already missed the first two episodes by the time I realized what was going! For one, I’m not used to Grimm airing on Monday, but one of my co-workers from Dish assures me that Monday is a far better slot for Grimm than Friday. Not only will more people be watching, but also this means more seasons in the future –woohoo! With the fast pace that the second season has shown so far, I expect that Grimm WILL be around for a few more seasons. 🙂

    • Shannon says:

Grimm actually will be returning to the Friday time slot starting September 14th. I wish it were staying on Monday nights; I like having something to look forward to on Mondays to help brighten the return to the work week. Besides, Friday is not usually a TV watching night for me. Oh, well. That’s what DVRs are for. 🙂
