WWW Wednesdays (Jan 23)

WWW Wednesdays is hosted by Miz B at Should Be Reading. To play, answer the following questions:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
What I’m currently reading:
The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling. So far, the lack of a primary character is disconcerting to me, but something about the story keeps drawing me back.
The Dirty Girls Social Club by Alisa Valdes-Rodriguez. Right now I’m at the part where the main character is at a low point and it’s like watching a train wreck about to happen. My head is screaming “No! Stop!!”
What I just finished reading:
Bared to You by Sylvia Day. I have to admit, I am re-reading it now. It’s great—um—bedtime reading.
What I think I’ll read next:
I think it’s going to be the BTY sequel, Reflected in You by Sylvia Day,
and Slammed by Colleen Hoover.

Is Bared to You like Fifty Shades?
A lot of people compare it to 50 shades and there are some similarities, the most obvious being that the guy, Gideon Cross, is extremely rich and powerful. The girl, Eva Trammell, however, while considerably lower on the economic scale, is no babe in the woods. She is smart and takes care of herself, which I love. The sex scenes are way hot, but do NOT involve contracts or bondage, which I also love. Both characters have dark pasts, so they are a good match for each other. Bared to You is also tightly written and the characters are better grounded in everyday life with real jobs and friends and families. So I guess I just described some of the ways it is different from 50 Shades, and why I never finished 50 but am reading Bared a second time.
I’ll have to read it so, Shannon. Thanks for the recommendation.
I finished Fifty Shades (all 3 books) in less than a week. I know they’re not everyone’s cup of tea, but I enjoyed them as a bit of entertaining fluff.
All 3 books in one week?!! Ok, I’m impressed!
